Key holder is a job role much like that of alarm response officer and, like that role, it was often passed onto an employee of the company. When an emergency occurs outside of office hours – anything from a reported fire to a bomb threat, the attending emergency services will call the key holder to attend the scene, granting them access to the premises.

Triggered alarms
If your security alarm is triggered for any reason, our key holders can be on the scene within minutes, as part of our mobile patrol. Being already active in the area, 24 hours a day, they can be depended upon to assist police or other interested parties day or night.
Emergency call-outs
There are many reasons, outside of a triggered alarm, why the emergency services might be called to your property. They may have had a direct report of a break-in or of suspicious individuals in the neighbourhood. There may have been evidence of a fire, or a reported bomb threat, or even environmental damage from a storm or flood. Whatever the reason, we will be listed as your company’s first point of contact and our key holders will attend the site, assisting wherever possible.
Detailed reports
Whatever the situation might be, once it has been resolved, our key holders will draft a report of the events. This will be made up of their own observations, as well as those of any other attendees such as the emergency services or witnesses. These reports are first returned to us at the Marpol Security head office to see if amending your security package could prevent this occurrence in the future. Following this, the full report – plus any recommendations – will be forwarded onto you for your files.
