With the festive season on the horizon, many businesses find themselves at greater risk from burglars, vandals, and other intruders than at any other time of the year. The reasons are simple: longer, darker nights make it easier for criminals to work unseen, while companies themselves often shut down for the Christmas period to give their staff a well-earned break before the New Year.
Here at Marpol Security, our staff operates year-round so that yours don’t have to. In this article, we discuss some of the services we provide for seasonal security cover across the UK.
Manned security
While many companies forego a manned security presence most of the time, if they are downing tools for an extended period, they may find it a useful service. While burglars might not want to chance breaking into a workplace that may or may not have staff present, a building under temporary shutdown is a more attractive prospect. We provide static security guards for all sizes of businesses, well-trained to handle any attempts at unauthorised entry. These are available round-the-clock or for specific shifts where your premises are likely to be most vulnerable.
Temporary CCTV Surveillance
If you are in charge of a construction site or other open premises, leaving the site abandoned for days or weeks at a time can pose a serious risk for the equipment and materials left behind. We can erect temporary CCTV towers to keep a watchful eye on the property. The live video feed is monitored 24 hours a day by our remote surveillance team. If they spot any unusual activity, they will instruct our nearby mobile patrol unit to intervene or, in the event of an emergency, the police.
Remotely-monitored CCTV
Whether you instruct us to put together a temporary CCTV package, or you already have one of our permanent surveillance systems in place, you are protected throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Our remote CCTV monitoring team continues to watch your premises on a 24/7 basis right across the festive season, ensuring any potential security breaches are dealt with promptly and effectively.
Keyholding and Alarm Response
If your building is shut down over Christmas, you need to know that someone will be on hand should the alarm system be triggered or emergency services be called to the site while it is unmanned. We provide alarm response and keyholding services, acting as the point of contact for your alarm company as well as the local police, ambulance, and fire services. Should an incident occur, you can rest easy knowing our mobile patrol unit will be on the scene within minutes to handle the situation. They will check and secure the building, liaise with the emergency services, speak to witnesses, and compile a full report of their findings.
Mobile Patrols and Building Checks
Our mobile patrol units form the heart of our local security operations. Wherever you’re based in the UK, we have a team of operatives driving around the neighbourhood, keeping an eye on all our client properties in the area. They act as a first-response unit, being the first point of contact in the event of a security breach at your premises. They also provide backup to any manned security detail working on your site. Beyond that, their role includes making regular checks on your premises while they are vacant. This means stopping off at the building to inspect whether the doors and windows are fully locked and checking for signs of attempted entry or damage. They will also be on the lookout for evidence of environmental damage, such as flooding or storm damage.
