Why prevention is better than a cure

The Reason Prevention Is Better Than Cure

Proportion of burglaries that are resolved

A recent report in the Times shows that conviction rates for burglaries and other crimes across England and Wales have almost halved over the last six years. Statistics indicate a drop from 9.4% of cases being successfully prosecuted in 2015 to only 5% in 2022. That is a national average, with some areas having lower prosecution rates than others. In Manchester, for instance, only 3% of burglaries lead to a conviction.

Here at Marpol Security, we regularly liaise with local police forces throughout the UK – normally when they have been called out to a security incident involving one of our clients. We know how hard they work to close down incidents of crime but often the evidence is not always there. So what can you do, as a business owner or private resident, to mitigate your losses?

The answer is simple: invest in a bespoke security package that meets the specific needs of your company.

Marpol Security

An effective deterrent

It is a fact that most property crimes – including those against businesses or private residents – are conducted by opportunists. Knowing that your place of work is under the protection of a professional security provider is often enough to make them think twice about attempting a break-in.

Here at Marpol Security, we recommend all our customers apply signage at key access points that inform would be thieves that their actions are being monitored.
