As a responsible employer, it is your duty to ensure that your employees are safe whilst on your premises. One of the most important aspects of this duty is keeping staff safe in the event of a fire.
At Marpol Security, we provide highly-trained and fully-qualified fire marshals to handle all aspects of fire safety for your business. We arrange these for businesses throughout Scotland, both large and small. With years of experience in fire safety, they can be relied upon to make your workplace a safer working environment.
As Scotland’s leading provider of fire marshals and fire warden solutions, we have much to offer companies in the region. Here are some of the services we provide:
The first task for any newly-appointed fire marshal is to assess your existing fire safety precautions. They will perform a detailed inspection of the building, determining potential fire risks. From this initial inspection, they will put together a report that compares your current fire safety protocols to the regulations covered by the Fire Precautions Act 1971.
Fire prevention is the core of the fire marshal’s role. Their job is to minimise fire-related risks on your company property. Liaising with your management team, staff members, and the local fire department, they will put together an effective fire prevention strategy for the company.
Our fire marshals will be responsible for several companies in your local area, meaning they will not be permanently on site. Instead, they will train up a crew of fire wardens from among your staff, who will be responsible for fire safety on a day-to-day basis. Their role will be to assist with the evacuation of visitors and staff during fires and fire drills. They will also receive training in how to use emergency fire safety equipment, such as extinguishers and fire blankets.
During their risk assessment of your building, our fire marshals will also inspect any existing fire evacuation procedures you have in place, making adjustments as they deem fit for maximum employee safety. These changes will be cascaded to the rest of your staff via the team of fire wardens. Our fire marshals will also arrange regular fire drills to ensure your employees understand the new process.
