Among the many responsibilities an employer has to their staff, keeping them safe in the event of a fire has to rank pretty high. The best way to ensure the safety of your team – as well as any visitors to your building – in a fire situation is to employ a trained and qualified fire marshal in the role.
At Marpol Security we can provide London companies with highly-trained fire marshals in this role. We have supplied them to businesses in all 32 London boroughs, as well as the City of London, and we can do the same for you.
As London’s leading provider of fire marshals and fire warden solutions, we have much to offer companies in the capital. Here are some of the services we provide:
To ensure that any fire safety plan we put together complies with the regulations set out in the Fire Precautions Act 1971, your fire marshal will start with a detailed risk management assessment. This will take a look at your current procedures and see what measures need to be implemented to ensure the safety of your employees.
The initial risk assessment is concerned, in large part, with minimising the number of potential fire hazards. This can include removing or highlighting possible fire risks, or installing additional safety equipment, such as emergency lighting, or additional fire extinguishers.
As well as providing a detailed fire safety plan, your fire marshal will train members of your team as fire wardens and instruct them how to implement it. This training includes the planning and running of fire drills so they can practise their role in a fire evacuation. Your fire wardens will also receive full training in the operation of fire safety equipment.
Planning a safe and simple fire evacuation route is a key part of the fire marshal’s role. They will consider your current arrangements and make such changes as necessary to maximise as safe outcome for all staff. Once this has been completed the evacuation plan will be passed onto your management team for cascading to your fire wardens and staff.
