On of the key responsibilities of any employer is ensuring that their staff are safe in the event of a fire. An effective way to manage this, is to employ fully-qualified fire marshals to fulfil the role.
At Marpol Security we provide highly-trained fire marshals to companies across the North East. They act as safety inspectors, advisors, and training officers, ensuring your employees are well aware of their roles and responsibilities. We have supplied fire marshals to businesses in Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, and Cleveland, including Teesside, Wearside, and Tyneside.
As the North East’s leading provider of fire marshals and fire warden solutions, we have much to offer companies in the region. Here are some of the services we provide:
An in-depth risk assessment by one of our fire marshals ensures your work environment complies fully with the auspices of the Fire Precautions Act 1971. This assessment of your current procedures allows our fire marshals to tailor your fire safety arrangements to guarantee the safety of your staff.
A central aspect of this fire risk assessment is minimising the danger posed by various fire hazards around the building, ideally removing them completely. Your fire marshals will liaise with the local fire department for any relevant local advice, and may recommend improvements to the building, such as emergency lighting.
In addition our fire marshal, you will have your own in-house team of fire wardens to direct staff in the event of an evacuation. These will be fully-trained by our fire marshal to fit the role. This includes running fire drills, practising their role during a fire evacuation, and handling on-site fire safety equipment.
As part of their fire risk assessment, our fire marshals will make sure that your current evacuation procedure is suitably safe. If not, they will make any necessary changes and see that they are cascaded down to your staff. These evacuation procedures will form the basis of regular fire drills, arranged by our fire marshals.
