As all good employers know, the safety of staff and customers in the workplace is your responsibility. Nowhere is this more important than in the area of fire safety. This is not an area where you want an amateur involved, which is why most employers hire a fully-trained fire marshal from outside their business.
At Marpol Security, we supply experienced, professional fire marshals to business across Warrington, including Appleton, Birchwood, Culcheth, Great Sankey, Hatton, Lymm, Penketh, Stockton Heath, Woolston, and beyond.
As Warrington’s leading provider of fire marshals and fire warden solutions, we have much to offer companies across the town. Here are some of the services we provide:
Our fire marshal’s primary role is to keep you, your staff, and any visitors to your building safe from fire hazards. To achieve this, they must ensure that your premises comply with the Fire Precautions Act 1971. Your new fire marshal will inspect your building to identify potential fire risks and compile a report detailing their recommendations.
Taking their risk assessment report as a starting point, your fire marshal will get feedback from your staff and the local fire department regarding any concerns they might have. From here, they will put together proposals for fire prevention best practices to be adopted by your company. These will be shared with your management team for approval.
Our fire marshals work with multiple companies concurrently. To ensure that your staff are protected at all times, they will train a team of fire wardens from among your employees. Their role will be handling fire safety on a day-to-day basis, co-ordinate and directing staff and visitors during fire drills and evacuations. Your fire marshal will also train them in the proper use of fire blankets and fire extinguishers.
One of the main duties of a fire marshal is to design and co-ordinate a safe, effective, and easy-to-follow evacuation procedure for your staff. This is based on their initial risk assessment findings and will be cascaded to you team via the fire wardens. Your fire marshal will also arrange regular fire drills to ensure your fire wardens and other staff are familiar with the new procedures.
